“Supporting Business, Services, and Events in our Community”
As we slowly transition into Spring I for one can’t wait to get outside and am looking forward to those warm sunny days that are just ahead.
The BIA is participating in the Chamber of Commerce Spring Home and Trade Show April 11th & 12th. We will have booth to represent and promote our members. If you would like to have your business represented by way of brochures or other information please let me know and I will come by and pick up your information. 613-362-0203 or email@example.com
If you would like to donate an item for our draws on Friday night or Saturday we would appreciate it. It can be a service or a gift certificate or an item to be given away.
We have participated on your behalf in discussions with the Municipality regarding the proposed changes to the By-Laws governing Parking, Signs, and Exotic Animals. Thank you for your input. We passed along the comments we received from our members to the Municipality and the discussion is ongoing.
The BIA has applied for two summer students for the 2014 season and we hope to hear about the success of our application in April.
We have asked the Municipality for permission to use the Centre Court Yard in such as way as to have picnic tables available for use during the months of June – November to further encourage our visitors to stay awhile longer, shop and enjoy the view. We hope perhaps to ad a bike rack to this area as well to encourage cyclists to stop here. We have also proposed that our businesses fronting on to the courtyard be allowed to put out tables for the enjoyment of their patrons. The BIA with assistance from our Summer Students and our businesses would take responsibility to ensure the area remains clean and free of debris.
Our new Web Site is finally ready to launch and you should be able to access it this week.
Once we get the site up and running I will assign each business a password to enable you to manage the information contained in your portion of the site. Your password will be changed by you and known only to you. This will allow you to advertise services and promotions and change these as you wish. We will be publishing our meeting minutes and newsletters on the new web site. We hope to use the web site as a more efficient and effective way of keeping you informed about events and plans and to ensure that you know what we are doing to support your business.
We will have more news to share with our members in the near future at www.morrisburgshopping.ca
